Uganda 2023: Day 5 – Art Team Reaches Out and Volunteers Visit Orphanage

It’s a beautiful morning heading to the hospital. The hustle and bustle of early morning commuters and school children makes for a very active scene on the streets of Gulu.

We have a full schedule of surgeries today but our art team has a full day planned too.

Today the art team is visiting the pediatric ward. The little patients have the opportunity to make masks and beaded bracelets and necklaces.

Later that day, a small group of Medical Missions Foundation volunteers visited a local orphanage in Gulu, The St. Jude’s Children’s Home.

Bubbles are always a big hit with kids.

Our team briefly interrupts the classroom of  children to pass out stuffed animals, donated from back home.

Chris makes a special connection with one of the little ones.

The children were so excited from our visit, they sang a beautiful song for us.
