Pain Free Now! – San Lucas Toliman

Carlos is a long time resident of San Lucas. His primary job is as a cook in a restaurant and he enjoys cooking many types of food including Chinese and Italian but his favorite food is typical Guatemalan cuisine.  Sometimes he does some construction work as well. He has a family of four children that he is raising with his wife. 

Over the past 6 months he has been dealing with a hernia that has been growing and growing causing him frequent discomfort especially when walking. “It feels like my insides are trying to push themselves outside, and it gets very painful”, he said. 

He’s very happy to have the opportunity to get the surgery so he can get back to being more active. Worrying about sudden pain and feeling his body is not cooperating is not a good feeling and makes it hard to work to support his family. He wants to thank the doctors who have traveled to San Lucas to help him and others feel better.
