India 2019 – Namaste
The traditional greeting of India literally means the divine in me recognizes the divine in you. Our team in India will be saying that a lot in the coming week.
After months of recruiting, planning and most recently packing, Team India is ready to head to Bhopal, India for Medical Missions Foundation’s fourth mission to India. We will again partner with Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital – if it were not for our incredibly generous hosts, this mission would not be possible.
During this mission we will provide much needed surgical care to the people of Bhopal and the surrounding rural villages. Along with medical treatment, we will be sharing supplies, equipment, and medications, as well as working together with physicians and nurses who live and work in Bhopal. Our MedMissionsFDN team of 23 very dedicated volunteers come from Kansas City, New Orleans, Chicago and Champaign, Illinois, Cleveland and Mumbai. Some are new to MedMisssionsFDN and some are longtime veterans.
We hope that you, our MedMissionsFDN family and supporters, will follow our journey. Elizabeth Alex, former NBC Action News 41 Anchor, global philanthropist and MedMissionsFDN veteran, joins our team as storyteller. She’ll share stories via our website blog and across our Social Media channels with you of our work and the impact that our team has on those we treat; stories of collaboration, how teamwork among our team and the Indian team leads to successful outcomes, the best medical care, and to expanding our knowledge of each other’s skills and culture. We’ll all learn and grow.
With gratitude we thank Drs. Pratibha & Naren Khare for introducing us to Bhopal 5 years ago, our hosts in Bhopal, our amazing team and our supporters. It’s because of you that we can do what we do, and do it so well. We provide surgical and medical care in underserved communities throughout the world and positively impact the lives of children and their families. #HealthforIndia
