Antigua 2016 – Day 4, V is for Victor(y)
Victor Quintero is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and is returning for the 8th time to Antigua this year. He has been on 13 missions with Medical Mission Foundation, including operations in Cuba, Panama, Mexico, and the Philippines. He is fluent in Spanish, as his parents are from Cuba, and during his earlier trips was the only person who could interpret for the team. He spent most of his time helping in small rural village clinics instead of the operating room. Victor became involved with mission work when an orthopedic surgeon from North Kansas City Hospital grabbed him in the hallway and asked if he wanted to go to Cuba. Victor couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was missing in his life (no se que….) until he began mission work. He is passionate about giving to underserved communities and has developed lasting relationships with local residents like Clara, one of the hardest working street vendors in Antigua. ¡Gracias por todos Victor!
