Philippines 2023 – Day 4

We met with the hospital staff and had orientation. We discussed our cases for the week. We tentatively have 46 cases scheduled. Dr Garima Thakkar, Dr. Glenn Talboy, Dr Carol Ann Aylward, and CRNA’s – Stephanie Jones and Sara Myers all screened and did one final exam before we set patients up for surgery.

Dr Carol Aylward will be doing cleft and lip palate reconstructions. Dr Glenn Talboy and Dr Garima Thakkar plan to do general surgeries – mass removals, gallbladder, hemorrhoids , and thyroid surgeries.

Our coordinator, Cora Zamora’s family hosted a very nice buffet dinner for the team – calamari, noodles, roasted pig, fried shrimp, a delicious cucumber salad, and all types of desserts and fruit.

We have an early morning. Tomorrow will be our first day of surgery.
